A suburb outside Newcastle City Centre, Denton Burn is close to the areas of Arthurs Hill, Fenham and Walbottle. The West Road runs to the north of Denton Burn providing easy access to the city centre
Situated just four miles from Newcastle City Centre with quick and easy transport links into the city and the surrounding areas. The A1 road runs through the area giving easy transport north or south. The Metrocentre, for shopping and leisure, is accessible via car in just twelve minutes. Team Valley industrial park is around a fifteen-minute drive away.
Within the suburb of Denton Burn there is a rare historical landmark with remains from Hadrian’s Wall which was built almost 2000 years ago. The Roman landmark also contains the remains of a turret, which is believed to have once been a mile castle along the wall, it is now presumed to have been buried beneath a modern housing development.
Throughout Denton Burn there are plenty of shops and pubs for the locals. It is considered to be a small, quiet residential area with fantastic schools including St Cuthberts High School. In Denton Burn there is Benwell Hill Cricket club as well as plenty of parks and Newcastle Football Centre.
