Hadrian’s Cavalry at Hadrian’s Wall - 08/04/2017 - 10/09/2017 
Taking place from Saturday the 8th of April to Sunday 10th September 2017 Hadrian’s Cavalry explores the role and daily life of the Roman army’s cavalry forces in a unique wall-wide exhibition that stretches the full 150 miles of the Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site area – from Maryport in the west to South Shields in the east. The new exhibition also features one of the largest Roman Cavalry re-enactments ever seen in the UK!

 

The Bathtub Sessions Gin Festival - 07/07/2017 - 08/07/2017

The Bathtub Sessions is a Gin festival with a twist! The event is set to take place in exhibition park and is an assembly of the finest gin distillers including some of the UK's leading small batch independents offering over 150 gins. As well as a plethora of fine gin, The Bathtub Sessions has a sumptuous street food village, a cracking selection of craft beers, cool tunes and a takeout store. 

 

NE1 Newcastle Motor Show - 08/07/2017 - 09/07/2017

Get ready for the bar to be raised once again as the NE1 Newcastle Motor Show returns to Newcastle for the 3rd year! This year the show expands to take in even more of the city including Northumberland Street, Old Eldon Square and Grainger Street, as well as Shakespeare Street and Hood Street.

 

GemArts Creating and Profiling Diverse Arts - Spring / Summer 2017

GemArts is a dynamic arts development organisation based in the North East of England. They produce and programme new and exciting culturally diverse arts, by creating and developing high quality concerts, events, festivals, workshops and commissions with regional, national and international artists. This summer there are many events to attend including the Masala Festival Monday 17th July - Sunday 23rd July.

Northern Pride is a celebration of LGBT life on Tyneside and is one of the biggest and most diverse free events in the North East. It begins with a pride march through Newcastle and ends with a fun celebration that includes a day of music, education and fun!

 

SummerTyne Americana Festival – 21/07/17 – 23/07/17

SummerTyne Americana Festival is back for 2017! Held at the Sage Gateshead you can expect a fun weekend celebrating the finest American roots music for a weekend long party!  Headliners taking to the stages include The Shires, William Bell, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Merle Haggard ‘s Strangers featuring Ben & Noel Haggard, Chuck Prophet, Jim Lauderdale, Sam Outlaw, Marlon Williams, Angaleena Presley, Jesca Hoop, Callaghan, Ashley Campbell, Eriksen and many more!

 

The Northumberland Plate Festival – 29/07/17 – 01/07/17

The Northumberland Plate Festival is a three-day festival of racing attracting both regular and one-off race goers. It is an excuse to get dressed up and enjoy the North East’s version of Royal Ascot!

 

Dino Jaws at the Centre for Life – 27/05/17 – 08/01/18

If you need ideas to help keep the kids entertained this event will do just that! This amazing exhibition from the Natural History museum features life-size animatronic dinosaur’s heads!
