Northumbria University's 'Not if But When' Newcastle Student Housing Campaign

Northumbria University has launched the 'Not If But When' campaign to raise awareness of burglaries concerning Newcastle student housing. They report there have been 120 student burglaries so far this academic year and many of these could have been avoided. 60% of student burglaries are walk-ins. Thieves operate day and night so locking your doors even when you are in the property and not making it obvious that it is a student house, can make you less of a target and potentially save your stuff.

Landlord's Insurance Doesn't Cover your Possessions

The landlord will have insurance for your Newcastle student housing and the furnishings they provide but you and your housemates' possessions will not be covered. It's really not worth taking the risk, make sure you get insured.
