House Price Index - January 2018

A report from Rightmove shows that visits to the popular site are up by 9% in comparison to January 2017, with 4 million average visits per day.

We also took a look at the average price of properties coming onto the market and they're up by 0.7% this month on Rightmove which works out to be +£2,067. The number of properties coming onto the market are very similar to the number of properties added last year around the same time. 

Looking at the North East specifically, the recorded average house price is £141,115 this month which is down by 2.7% from December 2017. The annual change is in average house prices in the North East are up by 0.1%. In the North East, the average amount of days it takes for a property to sell is 81 days. 

Sellers should note that buyers are still price wary with sales being agreed numbers in the last quarter are down a huge 5.5%. Properties suitable for first time buyers are more likely to be sold following last Autumns stamp duty saving boost.
