The easiest mode of transport for getting into Newcastle city centre is probably the Metro. The closest stop to the top of Osborne Road is West Jesmond, which is just two stops into Haymarket. Jesmond station is closer to those living at the South end of Osborne Road and is just one stop to Haymarket or an easy walk.

• Pubs & Bars: As the most social street in Jesmond, Osborne Road is full of bars loved by the Newcastle student population. Osborne’s shows live sports, has a large outdoor terrace and runs regular drinks promotions. Other popular venues are Spy Bar, Billabong, Bar Blanc and 97&Social.
• Cafes & restaurants: You’ll find authentic Persian cuisine at A Taste of Persia where you can eat in the fully-licensed restaurant or take away. One of the newest restaurants to land on Osborne Road is El Paso, a Latin American bar and grill inspired by street food. If you’re a fan of Asian cuisine you can try SoHe for Asian tapas dishes or if you just fancy a pizza, head to Pizza Express.
